Adtran: Connect a SIP Trunk

Scope:

The following steps will allow you to use a SIP Trunk with your hosted Adtran PBX using Require Registration based.

Requirements:

  • Administrator privileges to the web console

  • SIP trunk information (see Create a SIP Trunk)

    • Ensure SIP Trunk Name is the same as Domain and also use Require Registration for IP Control.

Create SIP Trunk on Adtran

  1. Click on Voice

  2. Under Trunks, click Trunk Accounts

  3. Trunk Name: Name of your SIP Trunk

  4. Type: SIP

  5. Click Add

  6. Under SIP Server Settings, configure the following:

    1. Hostname: core1-c7-slc.pbx.io

    2. SIP Server Transport: UDP

    3. Transport Setting Port: 5060

  7. Under SIP Outbound Proxy Setting

    1. Outbound Proxy Address (Host Name): core1-c7-slc.pbx.io

    2. From Header Host Type: Override Domain

    3. To Header Host Type: Override Domain

    4. Request URI Header Host Type: Override Domain

    5. Trust Domain: Enable

  8. Under SIP Registrar Settings

    1. SIP Registrar Address (Host Name): Name of Domain Name
      ​Registrar Threshold (Percentage): 50%

    2. Default Authentication: Set
      User
      : SIP Trunk Username

    3. Password: SIP Trunk Password

    4. Domain Address: Use this domain - Name of Domain Name

  9. Under Registration Settings

    1. Select Add Register Entry

      1. Start Value: SIP Trunk User

      2. Authentication: Set

        1. User: SIP Trunk User

        2. Password: SIP Trunk Password

    2. Click Add Register Entry

  10. Click Apply

  11. Click Save

  12. Under Reports > Trunk Registrations, the SIP Trunk will be registered.


Create Trunk Group

Setup Outbound route to SIP Trunk

  1. Under Voice, click on Trunk Group under Trunks

  2. Create a new group

  3. Click Add

  4. Click Add Member

    1. Select SIP Trunk that was created

  5. Checkmark the Outbound Call Template that will be used for this SIP Trunk

  6. Click Save
