3CX: Connect an IP-Based SIP Trunk

Scope:

The instructions below will guide you through configuring an IP based SIP Trunk between your hosted PBX and a 3CX PBX Version 16.0.5.611.

Requirements:

  • SIP Trunk Information (see Create a SIP Trunk)

  • SIP Trunk Name

  • Outbound Proxy Server: sbc.ucaasnetwork.com

  • SIP Trunk Username and Password

  • Tested on 3CX Version 16.0.5.611

Configuring SIP Trunk within 3CX

  1. Login to 3CX PBX

  2. Head to SIP Trunks, on the left-hand side

  3. Click “Add SIP Trunk" near the top of the screen.

  4. It will ask you for the following:

    1. Country: Generic

    2. Provider: Generic SIP Trunk

  5. Enter the ten-digit telephone number of your trunk, with no spaces or special characters (i.e. 3055551212)

  6. Click OK

  7. Enter a name for trunk: Common name of your choosing

  8. Registrar/Server/Gateway Hostname or IP: input the NAME of the SIP trunk

    1. Port: 5060

    2. Uncheck Auto Discovery

  9. Outbound Proxy: core1-c7-slc.pbx.io

    1. Port: 5060

  10. Authentication: Register/Account-Based

    1. Authentication ID: SIP Username entered on SIP Trunk

    2. Authentication Password: SIP Password from SIP Trunk
