Create a SIP Trunk

Scope:

These instructions will guide you through on creating an IP based SIP trunk for use with an on-premise PBX or ATA device.

Requirements:

  • Information needed before starting

  • Client static public IP

  • Number of total simultaneous calls

  • Reseller access to the Manager Portal

Creating a SIP Trunk

  1. Login into the Manager Portal

  2. Click on SIP Trunks.

  3. Click on Add SIP Trunk
    ​

  4. At the new popup fill out the following information

  5. Under the Basic heading:

    1. Name: Same as domain name (example: acme.sip)

    2. Domain: Select the domain that the sip trunk will be used (example: acme.sip)

    3. Description: Type the complete name of the company

    4. Relay Media: <If you're unsure> set it to "Don't care"

    5. Trunk Type: Bidirectional

    6. IP Control: Choose Static IP or Require Registration

    7. IP Address: Static IP of the client

  6. Under Dial Planning & Limits

    1. Dial Translation: Select Connection Trunk from the dropdown list to retain the origination caller ID to remain unchanged by the PBX. Otherwise, leave the default value which is the domain name

    2. Dial Permission: Select the desired dial permission. Recommended permission is US & Canada

    3. Set the limitations you wish to use for inbound & outbound calls, or both
      ​

  7. Click on Add.


Configure Failover

  1. Edit the SIP Trunk you created.

  2. Open the Failover Tab

  3. Set Allow Failover to yes

  4. Configure Call Forwarding as desired
    ​
