Are your speeds slower than they should be?

The only way to accurately test your speed is using an ethernet cable.

To start, let's test to determine if the problem is with the service or the router.

By bypassing the router entirely, we can quickly tell if the problem is on Sumo/Utopia side. Simply plug an ethernet cable, from your laptop/computer into the port labeled "GE1" on the Utopia fiber modem.

Locating "GE1":

Next, download the speed test app from: https://www.speedtest.net/apps/desktop

then run the speedtest!

IF the speed is great, then hook your router back to the utopia portal and plug your laptop directly into the router and run the same test.

Utopia test ok & Router test ok, but WIFI is slow: you might need to move the router to a better location to get better wifi speeds. you can also download our free SUMOhelp for additional troubleshooting, helps identify congestion and poor signal strength.

Utopia test ok & Router test slow: you will probably need to contact your router manufacturer directly for troubleshooting assistance.
